The simplest way to present KITT is the exhibition with the door open and the show technology switched on. The futuristic effect backdrop lights up both indoors and outdoors while the typical sounds are played at the same time. The screens show animations that are an exact replica of those from the series.
Most importantly, of course, is K.I.T.T.'s voice, which is available in both English and German and immediately captivates fans. Either as a loop of the most famous phrases, or actually as a realistic conversation with a fully automated A.I.
In addition, all buttons in the car can be pressed for demonstration purposes and then emit corresponding animations and noises. The best known of these is certainly the "Turbo Boost" button. Unusual functions such as laser, Co2 extinguisher or smoke screen can also be performed.
However, KITT can also be used as a show car on the move and is even road-legal.

All details
Particular emphasis was placed on suitability for recording on film sets and in television studios, but also for use in indoor shows:
- High-quality and powerful indoor and outdoor loudspeakers that are also suitable for sound reinforcement in a hall.
- Speech, sounds and music run on separate channels and can be controlled separately with a mixer in the centre console. This is an advantage if, for example, you want the speech but do not want the sounds.
- Artificial intelligence for realistic entertainment with KITT (not recommended for large crowds).
- Sennheiser radio link incoming, e.g. to use an external audio source as speech for KITT.
- Sennheiser radio link to feed the audio backdrop wirelessly to a mixing console or, for example, to give David Hasselhoff the English sound of KITT's speech on his ear while the outside sound system is in German.
- KITT's language can be switched "on the fly" between German and English.
- A selection of phrases can be programmed to the buttons in the centre console so that phrases can be triggered without being noticed.
- In addition to the clips typical of the series, the two monitors can also be played with any video files. Either as a loop or at the touch of a button on the switchpods next to the steering wheel.
- A live picture can be looped in via HDMI or FBAS if desired.
- The tank can be either completely emptied or filled for use in a studio. Outgassing with nitrogen is possible.
- The show technology was set up independently of the vehicle technology. A mostly dutiful disconnection of the starter battery has no negative influence on the functions.
- The vehicle's electrics are secured several times.
- We can move the vehicle in a hall or studio with movers without having to run the engine.
- A floor and fire protection carpet can be laid underneath if desired.
- A Trans Am is a very loud car. We therefore lined it up to the ceiling with Dynamat bitumen mats for better interior recording, which significantly reduces exterior noise.
- All effects can be controlled remotely, e.g. to operate the scanner, the dashboard or the speech in a recording.
- The scanner is not equipped with LEDs but, like the original, with 8 x 55 watt halogen bulbs, as used in fog lights. The light is also easy to see in sunlight.
- The speed of the scanner trail can be adjusted accordingly for the realisation of slow motion or fast motion, e.g. to simulate a high speed of the car.
- Black lacquer is like a mirror, which is a nuisance during filming. We have therefore dispensed with the use of clear varnish and have done the painting exactly as we did back then on the original series with a black solid varnish, which looks excellent but produces much less shine. Dulling spray can also be used.
- The road registration plate can be folded in quickly and easily, so that even after an approved approach, the tidy appearance of KITT can be produced with a flick of the wrist.
- We want to keep the illusion of K.I.T.T. as perfect as possible. That is why we do not use our own advertising on the entire car.
